At long last…. Follett Parts Ltd is pleased to announce the launch of their new website follettmotors.com/.
Frank L. Follett Motors Ltd was established in 1964 by its founder Frank Follett. Based in Maida Vale, North London, the aim was to provide efficient and reliable independent servicing and repairs for Volkswagens. During the 1960s, the Company was amongst the first U.K importers of VW parts.
Follett Parts Ltd was established more recently to promote the air cooled VW parts kept in storage since the 1960s and 1970s, the majority of which are NOS and of European quality. Parts are available for Beetle (Type 1), Bus (Type 2), Type 3 and Type 4.
Interesting features of the new website include:
• Bigger Pictures:
Parts pictures are intended to be as “user-friendly” as possible as one of the biggest frustrations is being expected to buy something without being able to view it in sufficient detail. When a viewer clicks on a part in the initial gallery, it brings him/her through to a page offering more information about the particular part in question. Here, it is possible to click onto a much larger picture so that a website viewer can see in greater detail.
• Part Numbers:
The original Volkswagen parts numbering system is used for reference purposes only as it can be confusing to be confronted with part numbers which bear no relevance to the original part in question.
• Manufacturer details:
In each of the 9 parts groupings (Engine, Emission System etc) it is possible to “drill down” by manufacturer. Where possible, pictures have been taken which clearly denote any manufacturer logo so that potential buyers can verify for their own confidence.
• Foreign Currency Price Guidance:
Payment is accepted in GBP, USD, Euro and Yen. A link to an online currency converter is provided next to each parts description so a user can get an idea of the cost in their own currency.
• Overseas Shipping Guidance:
“Dummy Guides” are provided which contain useful shipping tips for US, Danish, Swedish, Finnish and Portuguese customers.
• Delivery Costs:
Delivery costs are kept as transparent and economical as possible - each item has been weighed (g) and costs are based on weight and country of destination. A potential customer can find out a specific breakdown of delivery costs on the shipping tariff page and then work out how they want to proceed.
• In stock:
Parts listed on the website are in stock. Although not all parts in stock are shown as yet on the website, the principle is very much if you see it listed, it is to hand.
• Payment:
This is made through a third-party processing system, Worldpay, operated by the Royal Bank of Scotland. Payment is accepted in GBP, USD, Euro and Yen.
• Multilingual:
The air-cooled side of the site is also fully translated into other languages (French, German, Spanish, Dutch and Japanese). This multilingual aspect also extends to translations on the actual parts page itself where a user can click on a particular part in question, click on more info and then see all the relevant information in the given language. Also, on the user registration form which a potential customer is required to fill in before purchasing parts, there is multilingual assistance available in the form of a ‘tip sheet’ showing what certain requested fields mean in a user’s given language.
