Think IT, an association of IT professionals in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, recently announced a new comprehensive mentorship program that will cater to all levels of IT. The program is open to any member of Think IT who is interested in becoming a mentor and/or mentee. The purpose of the mentorship program is to provide access to the knowledge and experiences of the most Senior IT Leaders within Think IT’s membership to grow the next generation of IT Leaders.
The pilot program, which began on June 4th includes CIO’s and other IT Executives as mentors from top companies within the Minneapolis area such as Medica, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota, Red Wing Shoe Company, United Health Group, Merrill Corporation, etc. “I’m excited about the opportunity to be a part of this program and give back to fellow IT professionals looking to transition into more of a leadership role.” Said Tom Grooms, CIO at Valspar.
Think IT seeks to create partnerships based on mutual trust and respect and will aid both mentors and mentees throughout the process. “There is such an enormous amount of knowledge and experience spread among various levels of IT Professionals, through our groups and this new mentorship program, each member can share, learn, and grow.” said Richard Walker, Chairman and Founder of the Think IT Association.
The program’s next session is scheduled to start on Monday, July 9th and all members are invited to apply for mentor and/or mentee positions. Each mentoring session will last for 6 months with a minimum of 6 meetings. The mentorship program is for Think IT members only.
