Splunk, Inc., the leading provider of software for real-time operational intelligence, today announced that the company has been recognized as the "Best Governance, Risk & Compliance Solution" at the Network World Asia Information Management Awards 2012. The inaugural award honors leaders in the information security, storage, and data management industries. Splunk's solutions were voted as the industry's best by 100 Asia Pacific CIOs and IT leaders. The awards ceremony was held in Singapore on June 5.
Splunk is a leader in enterprise security intelligence and was honored for its reputation in the marketplace, the unique selling points of its software, user feedback on the solutions or deployment, as well as the durability, scalability and quality that it delivers to its customers.
"Splunk has consistently been developing its governance, risk and compliance management solutions to tackle the new challenges and complexities that organizations face with today's disruptive technologies," said Victor Ng, SE Asia Bureau Chief for Network World Asia. "We congratulate Splunk on being the top choice for the Best Governance, Risk and Compliance Solution."
Finalists for the Network World Asia Information Management Awards were shortlisted by Network World Asia editors, after which 100 CIOs and IT heads from end-user organizations from the Asia region voted for the winners.
"With security services expected to reach $49 billion in 20151, many companies understand the importance of improving their security standing," said Robert Lau, Area Vice President, Asia Pacific and Japan, Splunk. "The award reflects the growing importance of Splunk in security and compliance, where we enable users to achieve higher automation to meet compliance requirements, improve productivity, and fulfill the requirements of multiple mandates in a single system."
Earlier this year, Splunk released its Enterprise Security Intelligence Solution, consisting of the Splunk App for Enterprise Security 2.0, and Splunk® Enterprise™ 4.3, the company's flagship software for collecting, indexing, monitoring, and analyzing machine data. Splunk software provides visibility into a broad range of IT events including those that are beyond the scope of traditional security solutions, but are increasingly security-relevant. Splunk's big data engine enables security professionals to quickly understand unknown threats hidden as patterns in terabytes of normal user-credentialed activities that can mean the presence of advanced malware or a malicious insider.
The Splunk App for Enterprise Security provides the out-of-the-box security content that combined with the core Splunk engine, delivers a next-generation security intelligence solution for monitoring known threats, support for forensic investigations, big data analytics to help identify advanced persistent threats, and dashboards for security posture and investigation workflows.
Splunk® Inc. (NASDAQ: SPLK) provides the engine for machine data™. Splunk software collects, indexes and harnesses the massive machine data continuously generated by the websites, applications, servers, networks and mobile devices that power business. Splunk software (splunk.com) enables organizations to monitor, search, analyze, visualize and act on massive streams of real-time and historical machine data. More than 4,000 enterprises, universities, government agencies and service providers in over 80 countries use Splunk Enterprise to gain operational intelligence that deepens business understanding, improves service and uptime, reduces cost and mitigates cyber-security risk.
