The Design Group, Arkansas’s leader in multicultural marketing, announces a new partner in the marketplace as it continues to target new segments in its messages to African Americans in central Arkansas. The Design Group is now the Agency of Record for Beta Pi Omega (BPO), the Little Rock graduate chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
The Design Group will provide a full range of marketing services for Beta Pi Omega as it works to build awareness of its philanthropy through college scholarships, community service projects with various charities, mentoring programs for middle-school aged girls and furthering of the arts.
Tjuana Byrd, President of Beta Pi Omega, said this relationship will help strengthen her organization’s commitment to serve mankind and extend their presence in the community.
“We are excited to begin this new chapter with The Design Group. BPO hopes to build upon our foundation of community service and begin to showcase the good work my sorority sisters are doing in their neighborhoods, churches, schools and the larger Little Rock community,” Byrd said.
Myron Jackson, Chief Executive Officer at The Design Group, expressed his enthusiasm about the possibilities that arise out of this partnership.
“Beta Pi Omega is an outstanding organization with a great reputation for service to its community. We are proud and honored it has chosen our team to lead its marketing and public relations initiatives.”
Beta Pi Omega was chartered in Little Rock on March 13, 1937 by eleven college-educated Alpha Kappa Alpha women. Today, BPO boasts a membership of more than 150 women, including Colette Honorable, Chairman of the Arkansas Public Service Commission; Mary Louise Williams, past Pulaski County Quorum Court member; state Senator Linda Poindexter-Chesterfield; and Wilhelmina Lewellen, former state representative.
