San Antonio, TX, United States, 11/27/2006 - Sandlot Baseball and Fastpitch Academy, today announced that it will be open for business beginning today. The San Antonio location is the latest of 22 National Sandlot Baseball and Fastpitch Softball Facilities to open its doors to the public.

The indoor, 10,000 square foot, climate controlled training facility has 5 Pitching Lanes, 4 with Iron Mike pitching machines throwing 40-80mph. The machine’s throw real leather baseballs, not synthetic “machine balls”. The facility also includes a pro-shop featuring products from Wilson, Rawlings, Louisville Slugger and Kelley USA, to name a few.
The Sandlot’s instructors include current and former MLB/Collegiate players. All Sandlot instructors are put through a certification process prior to instructing to help train them in the Sandlot curriculum and to maintain a consistency and quality in the instruction they provide. In addition to traditional training methods, the Sandlot uses state of the art batting/pitching training tools such as the Rightview Pro© batting/pitching analysis system and the Black Sound© pitching system. The Sandlot offers programs from beginning to advanced players. The Sandlot’s instruction staff will be available for individual, group and team instruction as well as camp and clinic offerings throughout the year.
The Sandlot Baseball & Fastpitch Academies philosophy is based on encouraging and rewarding positive behavior for each student in his or her game, at home and at school. Sandlot Academies, LLC, was founded in 2005, and is headquartered in Denver, CO. Five new academies are planned to open by year-end including Haymarket, VA; Winslow, NJ; Howell, NJ; Orange County, CA; Bel Air, MD.
