Chicago, IL, United States, 2012/04/02 - Invenergy Wind, LLC (“Invenergy”) announces the recent completion of construction and the start of commercial operations of the Le Plateau Wind energy project (“Le Plateau”) in Quebec, Canada - InvenergyLLC.com.
It is the province’s largest wind power generation facility in operation at this time.

A 138.6 MW facility, Le Plateau produces enough clean, renewable energy to power more than 45,000 homes. It is located in the Ruisseau-Ferguson unorganized territory in the MRC d’ Avignon, near the village of l’Ascension-de-Patapédia.
The project consists of 60 ENERCON E-70 wind turbines. ENERCON Canada Inc. headquarters are located in Montreal, with a manufacturing facility in Matane, Quebec.
Le Plateau has a 20-year power supply contract with Hydro-Québec, and the project is connected to the Hydro-Quebec TransÉnergie transmission grid.
Invenergy has two other Quebec wind energy projects in development, both of which also have 20-year power purchase agreements with Hydro-Québec. The 23 MW Le Plateau 2 Community Wind Energy project, an expansion of Le Plateau, is scheduled to commence commercial operations in 2013. The Des Moulins Wind Energy project will be a 156 MW facility and also is scheduled for completion in 2013.
