The National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians – Communications Workers of America (NABET-CWA) has partnered with Class on Demand, a provider of award-winning professional educational products for IT and creative markets, to make high-quality training materials easily accessible to trade union members through a NABET-CWA-branded customized online portal.

“Our thousands of members require high-quality training and certification materials to keep current with the requirements of today’s digital broadcast and post-production environments,” said Jim Joyce, President, NABET-CWA. “By adding Class on Demand’s catalog of training materials to our existing educational offerings, we are giving our members tools to sharpen their skills, develop new ones, and compete more effectively in a competitive job market.”

NABET-CWA members need only create an account and log into the training portal to access the entire Class on Demand course catalog, including training produced by Class on Demand’s strategic partners. Hundreds of IT and creative and media titles are available covering topics such as lighting, video editing, camera techniques, broadcast graphics, and more. As new titles are published they become instantly available to NABET-CWA members through the portal. Users can access the online training from work or home, any time, day or night.

"Class on Demand offers a flexible, secure, and efficient means of delivering effective training materials,” said Charlie Braico, Sector Vice President, NABET-CWA. “As an organization we believe in continuous training and education. Our members value having access to top-notch instruction on the latest digital technologies,” he continued. “We are excited to work with Class on Demand over the coming year to develop new custom training courses for our members.”

As part of the new customized portal, NABET-CWA leaders can generate reports on the training service and members’ progress on a national, local or individual basis. Members can also work toward becoming union certified in individual programs and technologies by completing the requisite courses.

“The ability to use the latest editing, graphics, or special effects software, for example, can really set someone apart when seeking a new contract or position,” said Paul Holtz, founder and CEO, Class on Demand. “NABET-CWA has demonstrated its commitment to the continuing excellence and development of its membership by offering the customized Class on Demand training portal.”
