Centric Parts, a leading manufacturer and supplier of aftermarket brake and clutch components and systems, today introduces their newly updated Hardware-Included line of Posi Quiet Brake Friction. Centric Parts made the decision to include application-specific hardware with every Posi Quiet pad after exhaustive field research and feedback from customers.
“A common practice in the industry is to reuse brake hardware when new calipers, rotors and pads are installed,” explained Centric Parts CEO Dino Crescentini. “Although brake hardware is durable, a thorough brake job should always include new hardware. Many technicians skip this step because of incorrect, incomplete or missing hardware included with the pads.”
With its new hardware-included brake pad line, Centric Parts provides all of the application-specific hardware an installer needs to finish the job the right way. These full brake hardware kits may include guide pin bolts, boots, bushings, superior quality stainless steel abutment clips, anti-rattle clips, hold-down springs and pins, return springs, adjuster screws, levers and springs, and neoprene access plugs – whatever hardware is necessary to complete the job.
“Although it’s possible to reuse undamaged brake hardware,” added Crescentini,“it is important to remember that these mechanical components can degrade from normal wear-and-tear as well as from exposure to the elements. Worn or damaged hardware can lead to increased noise, accelerated wear or even brake failure in extreme cases. Centric wanted to make sure the hardware was first rate as well. That’s why we include a FULL hardware kit using only Stainless Steel abutment clips, as opposed to the cheaper plated clips that are used by most of the other aftermarket companies.”
Replacing used brake hardware with new brake hardware at every brake service eliminates the possibility of re-using a potentially bad part, and is a sure sign of a complete, professional job.
