Effective and timely communication of terror threats and disaster information to the general public became instant, secure, private and more efficient this week with the expansion of the AlertsUSA Nationwide Homeland Security Alert Service to include delivery of comprehensive threat data (email, voice or text message, PDF, or Fax) to literally any type of electronic communications device, including cell phones, standard telephones, text pagers, Fax, PDA’s or securely and privately deliver files (audio, video, PDF, document, spreadsheet) to a user’s computer desktop through a newly initiated joint Security Information and Content, Alerts and Notification venture.
Operational since March 2003, AlertsUSA Homeland Security Information System has become the de facto tool for increasing threat awareness for thousands of federal, state, county and municipal employees, law enforcement officials, counter-terrorism professionals and the general public. In addition, a host of supplemental information resources are also provided to subscribers through a convenient, secure desktop interface. This interface queries the AlertsUSA servers on an hourly basis for updated information.
