Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, 2006/11/20 - YourTechOnline.com, Inc, a provider of 24 hour a day online technical support and the recipient of the 2005 PC Magazine Editors’ Choice Award, has taken computer repair services to a new level.
On November 1, 2006 YourTechOnline.com presented the first free educational webinar called “Basics of Internet Security”. Topics covered included internal and external attacks, firewalls, antivirus and anti-spyware. YourTechOnline.com had over 300 people register for the first webinar.
Unlike its competitors, YourTechOnline.com, which has pioneered unique service delivery models for the emerging category of online technical support, isn’t afraid of sharing its computer knowledge with its customers.
“Responses from attendees were overwhelmingly positive" said Steve Wandler, CEO of YourTechOnline.com. "Ninety five percent of respondents said they would attend another seminar and over 90 percent said they would recommend the next seminar to a friend. There is a tremendous hunger for knowledge among computer users – especially from a source they can trust."
YourTechOnline.com’s unique service delivery model utilizes the power of the Internet, state-of-the-art screen-sharing software and a staff of friendly, highly trained technicians to provide on-demand, real time computer servicing and repair to personal computer users world wide.
“Screen sharing is two to three times faster than telephone-only service and 10 to 20 times faster than email. It’s far more convenient than dropping off the computer system at a computer repair service, and costs less,” said Wandler. “The bottom line is we’re here to help our customers 24 hours a day, seven days a week with whatever computer questions or issues they have. No question is turned away, even if their question is as general as, ‘Can you help me learn the basics about my computer?’”
Customers typically initiate the online service session with a phone call to YourTechOnline.com. The call goes through an automated routing system and connects with a technician. The customer then explains the computer problem to the technician. After the technician understands the issue, they give the customer an estimate of the length of time it will take to fix. The customer then purchases an appropriate amount of time for their online technical support. Packages are offered in 30, 60, 90, 120 and 180 minutes.
“We use a per-minute billing structure in order to offer our customers accurate and fair billing,” said Wandler. “There is no minimum charge, subscription fees or hidden costs.”
After the time is purchased, the technician connects to the customer’s computer over the Internet with desktop sharing software and fixes the problem. The customer watches the repair to their machine and can talk to the technician simultaneously on the phone if they choose. They may also take back over the computer screen at any time. Once the repair is complete, the customer closes the sharing software and the technician deducts the repair time from their account. Any time remaining on the customer’s account is a credit balance and can be used to solve any problem the user may have in the future.
YourTechOnline.com will begin offering monthly webinars. The next webinar “Introduction to Home Networking,” will be on Monday, December 11, 2006 at 8:00 PM Eastern Time.
