That’s what’s behind the new Immersion™ RH20 LED lighting system for horizontal refrigerated display cases, GE Lighting Solutions’ most advanced, energy-efficient solution in the horizontal LED refrigeration category to date.

The ultra-efficient Immersion RH20 LED system delivers energy savings where it can have some of the strongest impact—in refrigerated displays that are working hard 24 hours a day year round to keep food items fresh. By substituting energy-saving Immersion RH20 LED lighting solutions for traditional T12 high-output fluorescent tubes, retailers can reduce energy consumption in horizontal refrigerated display cases by up to 77 percent and curb environmental impact by cutting CO2 emissions from power production.

The revolutionary, energy-efficient design translates to real savings over time. As an example, by switching 10 eight-foot refrigerated cases that operate the lights 18 hours per day from traditional 32-watt linear fluorescent T8 tubes to Immersion RH20 LED lighting systems across 50 stores, a retail chain could save more than $100,000 in energy costs per year, significantly reducing the retailer’s payback period.
“Since GE created the world’s first LED lighting solution for refrigerated cases in 2004, the technology has continued to evolve into the incredibly efficient, high-performing Immersion RH20 LED system we offer today,” states Eric Stevenson, general manager, Specialty Lighting, GE Lighting Solutions. “Immersion RH20 pairs well with GE’s Immersion™ RV40 LED lighting system for vertical cases to offer maximum savings, performance and optimized visual appeal."
In addition to slashing energy costs, the Immersion RH20 LED lighting system has been specifically designed to provide unmatched visual appeal. Since horizontal cases often contain fresh food items, the uniform, bright light provided by the Immersion RH20 LED solutions can play a significant role in positively influencing consumer experience and purchase decisions. For this reason, Immersion RH20 LED lights are designed to make food look its best with an 80-plus color rendering index. To draw the customers' attention to products that matter most to retailers, adjustable clips allow retailers to easily rotate the LED light fixture, angling light directly onto foods.
The Immersion RH20 LED solution is available in multiple lengths (24”, 36" and 48"), in warm and cool color temperatures (3000K, 4000K and 5000K) and designed for both canopy and undershelf applications to give retailers the flexibility needed to tailor lighting to complement any display.

The technologically advanced lighting system is rated to perform for up to 50,000 hours—four times longer than many fluorescent alternatives. It is also backed by a 5-year limited warranty and the GE Six Sigma Quality methodology, where products undergo meticulous in-house and independent testing on the LED, sub-system and complete system to provide ultimate performance that retailers can trust for the long haul.

Immersion RH20 LED systems are much easier to dispose of responsibly than fluorescent tubes, as their long reliable life reduces material waste. In addition, the LED systems do not contain the mercury, lead or glass that exists in traditional lighting options. As a result, maintenance and material waste and costs are significantly diminished, while unsightly burnouts are reduced.

GE Lighting Solutions, LLC, a unit of GE Lighting, is a combination of GE's light-emitting diode systems operation, formerly known as Lumination, and its commercial and industrial fixture group, formerly known as GE Lighting Systems.
