At the morning session, the venture capitalist panelists will discuss critical topics including: valuation trends, term sheets, and hot industry trends. Mr. Dennen is a Managing Director for Enhanced Capital Partners, LLC, and is responsible for making qualified investments in the various CAPCO states. His initial area of focus is New York. He is a member of the firm's investment committee. He serves on the Board of Directors of PartSearch Technologies, Inc. Prior to joining Enhanced Capital Partners, LLC, in June 2001, Mr. Dennen has held senior positions at technology firms.
Esther Dyson is editor-at-large at CNET Networks, where she is responsible for its monthly newsletter, Release 1.0, and its PC Forum, the high-tech market's leading annual executive conference. As editor-at-large, she also contributes insight and content to CNET Networks' other properties. She sold her business, EDventure Holdings, to CNET Networks in early 2004. Previously, she had co-owned EDventure and written/edited Release 1.0 since 1983.
Edwin Goodman, General Partner at Milestone Venture Partners, is a venture capitalist with 27 years of experience with highly-regarded venture firms, including Patricof & Co. (7 years) and Hambros Bank (17 years). Mr. Goodman joined Patricof & Co. as its third employee in 1974, and managed the fund that invested in the final private financing round raised by Apple Computer in the summer of 1977.
Douglas Miscoll is a Principal of Newlight Associates. Previously, he was a Managing Director of Laidlaw & Co., an investment firm that he purchased with an investor group and subsequently sold. He also served as Managing Director of Northgate Ventures, a venture capital fund focused on investments in early-stage technology companies. Mr. Miscoll was a founding member of the management team that created K-III Communications, now Primedia, a publishing and media company sponsored by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. Mr. Miscoll holds a B.A. from Santa Clara University, an M.A. from Templeton College, Oxford University, and an M.B.A. from Georgetown University.
Brett Topche joined NJTC Venture Fund as an Associate from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, where he achieved a dual major with high honors in Finance and Legal Studies and a minor in Political Science. He previously worked for MRA International in real estate development consulting, and for the accounting firm Frankel and Topche. At NJTC Venture Fund, Brett focuses primarily on software and communications companies.
