Following its recent expansion, IT specialist Blue Chip is pleased to announce the launch of its new website, including an interactive online Service Desk application for all its customers.
Blue Chip Sales and Marketing Director, Anthony Green, explains: “The new website represents the full range of services we are now able to provide as a key provider of IT solutions, both regionally and nationally. It is designed to be a far more interactive and useful tool for customers; while businesses can access the information on services that they need - whether an infrastructure review or implementation – we have gone a step further, launching our online Service Desk portal.
“This enables customers to log in and upload their own customer tickets and monitor their status, giving them more visibility and control. Customers with in-house IT departments now have a world-class Service Desk system available for their internal use, at no extra charge. In response to customer demand, we can also provide full integration with our Service Desk platform, putting the customer in control of their incidents and give direct access should they wish us to resolve an issue on their behalf, or support them in doing so.”
Special attention has also been given to the training section of the website. Prospective training delegates will be able to view detailed information on every course, in all locations, with a quick and easy online booking service. This supports the expansion of Blue Chip’s training services, which have doubled in capacity in the last year, with two new training facilities opening in Southampton, and a training and exam facility at Blue Chip’s headquarters in Poole.
The new website also integrates the full range of today’s communication mechanisms - Facebook, Blog and Twitter - as well as employing embedded video through the use of YouTube to create interesting and captivating customer testimonials and case studies, or to convey the importance and benefits of new products and technologies as they are launched. It is hosted at Blue Chip’s own data centre, which also provides hosting for customer websites.
Green states: “In our experience, too many websites are hosted on inadequate hardware in insecure environments, with no real management or even regular backup. The recurrence of this issue convinced us that we must invest in an affordable yet industry-leading web platform for all our customers to host their websites, as well as our own.”
