AccessData Group announced today that it has been nominated for two top honors in the 2012 GOVTek Executive Government Technology Awards, a major government IT industry awards event. AccessData has received nominations in the “Top Solution Provider to Watch For in 2012” category, as well as “Best Security Solution” for SilentRunner, a market leading network forensics solution that is also one of the core technologies in the company’s new CIRT (Cyber Intelligence and Response Technology) product. Winners in the competition will be announced at the gala awards ceremony in Washington DC on Thursday, February 2, 2012.
Presented by the Government Technology Research Alliance (GTRA), a non-profit trade group comprised of public and private sector organizations, the GOVTek Awards recognize government and industry IT leaders who improve the way the federal government delivers services, interacts with citizens, shares information, and protects its national assets. Nominees for the awards come from both private industry and federal agencies of all sectors, from defense and intelligence to commerce and administration.
GOVTek award winners are judged by members of the GTRA Government Council, the GTRA Industry Advisory board and the GTRA Board of Directors. Emphasis is given to areas that are currently most relevant to government IT including social media, infrastructure, leadership, cyber security, green IT, and transparency.
“AccessData has taken a far more innovative approach to developing solutions that effectively address today’s cyber security challenges,” said Jason Mical, Director of Network Forensics. “The market’s response to SilentRunner and our integrated CIRT platform has been overwhelming, and we believe these nominations reflect the incredible commitment our employees have made to our customers, our mission and our technologies.”
SilentRunner is AccessData’s network analysis product. It provides real-time monitoring and captures, analyzes and visualizes network data for incident response and information assurance purposes. In 2011, AccessData integrated SilentRunner and other proprietary technologies to create CIRT, the first integrated incident response and information assurance platform. The CIRT platform integrates network forensics, computer forensics, malware analysis, large-scale data auditing and remediation within a single interface.
Unlike other vendors who offer individual tools for each function, AccessData has led the field by incorporating this broad array of capabilities in a unified platform. CIRT allows incident responders and information assurance personnel to more reliably detect, analyze and remediate threats, including advanced persistent threats, zero-day exploits and data leakage. An integrated view into all the critical data needed during cyber incidents gives security professionals the full 360-degree picture of what is happening on their networks, without having to juggle different tools.
GTRA’s 2012 GOVTek Awards will be held at the Newseum in Washington DC. To learn more about the awards, visit GOVTekAwards.org/.
