Singapore, Singapore, 2012/01/30 - GottaGetaway is Singapore’s newest online travel startup. William Bao Bean, Managing Director at Singtel Innov8, Brett Henry, VP of Abacus International, and Scott Silverman, Regional Director of Godfrey Q & Partners have joined the Board of Advisors.
GottaGetaway, Singapore’s latest online travel startup, disclosed today that the company had formed a Board of Advisors comprised of a trio of industry leaders.
The Board is composed of three members: William Bao Bean, Brett Henry and Scott Silverman. “We couldn’t be happier,” stated GottaGetaway Founder Ric Shreves. “Having this group of individuals means a great deal to us as it greatly expands our reach and our access to expertise. All three of these gentlemen are leaders in their fields.”
William Bao Bean is the Managing Director at Singtel Innov8, a strategic investment fund backed by Singtel Group and focused on the technology, media and telecom sectors. He began his investment career 15 years ago as a technology analyst in Taiwan and was a partner at Softbank. He also served at Deutsche Bank, where he was responsible for Internet and Telecom Equipment across Asia.
Brett Henry is the Vice President of Abacus International, a leading travel industry brand. Brett is also a travel marketer and angel investor focused on online travel. He provides valuable insights from his extensive experience in the travel and hospitality industry.
Scott Silverman has been in Asia since 1996, working and consulting for several agencies across a broad spectrum of marketing disciplines, categories and brands.
Added Ric,“these three gentlemen cover all the critical bases for us: investment and business strategy, travel industry knowledge, and world class marketing. It’s a wealth of experience that any company would be lucky to have and we feel it gives us depth that is very, very hard to find in an early stage start-up”.
GottaGetaway (gottagetaway.com) is an online travel startup based in Singapore. The company was formed in December 2011, after 6 months of market research and preliminary exploration with travel industry partners. Plans currently have the company premiering the site at the Travel Distribution Summit in May 2012, with public release to follow. The company is using Singapore as their test market and, if well received in Singapore, plan to expand regionally.
