Embraer will participate in the second edition of the Bahrain International Airshow (BahrainInternationalAirshow.com), January 19-21, at Sakhir Airbase in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Company will promote its full line of commercial jets and showcase the EMBRAER 175 (E175) in the static display. The Kingdom of Bahrain is a very important market for Embraer, and we are proud of our successful partnership with Gulf Air, which has been an E-Jet operator since 2010,” stated Mathieu Duquesnoy, Vice President – Middle East & Africa – Embraer Commercial Aviation.

Since the EMBRAER 170 (E170) entered service in the Middle East, with Saudi Arabian Airlines, in 2005, Embraer’s presence in the region has grown significantly. Sixty-six firm orders for E-Jets have been placed there. The four models of the E-Jets family, seating from 70 to 122 passengers, are the second most used aircraft for intra Middle East flights, being operated by ten airlines to primarily rightsize routes and reduce excess narrowbody capacity. Today, an E-Jet takes off every five minutes, serving 150 routes in the Middle East In December 2011, at the Dubai Airshow, Embraer named Kuehne + Nagel to offer its E-Jets customers a new spare parts distribution center in Dubai . Complementing the Embraer authorized service center in Cairo (Egypt) and three full-flight simulators in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), Bahrain, and Amman (Jordan), this new facility reinforces customer support to the Company’s expanding commercial aviation fleet in the Middle East and in Africa.

The E-Jets family has more than 800 commercial jets in operation with 60 companies in 40 countries, and over 1,000 firm orders.

About the Embraer family of E-Jets

The Embraer family of E-Jets consists of four commercial jets with 70 to 122 seats, featuring advanced engineering design, efficient performance, outstanding operating economics, low emissions levels, and a spacious single-aisle cabin with no middle seats (2x2).
The E-Jets have a maximum cruising speed of Mach 0.82, can fly at 41,000 feet (12,500 meters)
and have ranges of up to 2,400 nautical miles (4,450 kilometers). The high degree of commonality among the four aircraft – EMBRAER 170, EMBRAER 175, EMBRAER 190 and EMBRAER 195 – results in exceptional savings for carriers, in terms of crew training and the cost of spare parts and maintenance. Another key feature of the E-Jets is the state-of-the-art, fly-by-wire technology, which increases operating safety, while reducing pilot workload and fuel consumption.

The double-bubble fuselage design provides superior comfort and includes two main passenger entrances and two service doors, thus minimizing aircraft turn-around time. The E-Jets offer much more space for passengers, in a single or dual-class layout, than other aircraft with similar seating capacities. For more details, visit EmbraerCommercialJets.com/.

The E-Jets have achieved outstanding success, with over 1,000 firm orders logged from 60 companies in 40 countries . More than 800 E-Jets have been delivered and have, collectively, accumulated six million flight hours and transported 250 million passengers, worldwide. This proven family is helping airlines to rightsize low load factors on narrowbody routes, to replace older, inefficient aircraft, and to develop new markets with lower operating costs, greater efficiency, and outstanding passenger comfort.
