NewswireToday - /newswire/ - Columbia, MD, United States, 2012/01/09 - In November 2011, Energetics Incorporated completed a substantial website and newsletter redesign for the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) that significantly boosted website traffic and improved the user experience - CleanEnergyMinisterial.org.

The redesigned website and newsletter showcase the dynamic and ongoing work of the CEM, including the activities of its 11 collaborative clean energy initiatives, efforts to boost public-private engagement to accelerate clean energy deployment, and annual ministerial meetings.

CEM website screenshotEnergetics’ design and communications teams gave the website and newsletter a fresh new look and feel, creating graphic icons and thoughtful navigation elements that help users more quickly find relevant information. In addition, the team updated and expanded content, where appropriate, to showcase the full scope of CEM work and highlight recent news, events, media, and publications. The team also shortened the format of the email newsletter, incorporating visual cues and brief text elements that make the newsletter more scannable.

Energetics launched the redesigned website in mid-November and distributed the CEM’s Fall 2011 email newsletter one day later. The newsletter gave subscribers a first opportunity to read about the site redesign, become familiar with the new look and feel, and click through to the website to learn more. The team also announced the website redesign on LinkedIn.

Click-through rates and website traffic data show that users responded positively to the newsletter and website redesign. More than 9% of subscribers clicked through to the website from the newsletter, well above the industry average of 5.3%.1 Individual stories in the redesigned email newsletter also had higher click-through rates than stories in previous issues. The newsletter’s release caused a spike in visitor traffic to the redesigned website, with total visits increasing to levels last seen during the second Clean Energy Ministerial meeting in April 2011.

Energetics (energetics.com) is now maintaining and updating the CEM website to reflect the latest CEM achievements and preview the third Clean Energy Minisiterial (CEM3), which will be held in London in April 2012. Energetics is also working with CEM to plan and produce the next issue of the email newsletter, which will be published before CEM3.

The CEM (cleanenergyministerial.org) is a forum for the world’s most influential economies to collaborate on and promote clean energy technologies and policies.
