Enigmacoustics’ ultra-high-fidelity speakers can also be demoed in Venetian Exhibitor Suites 35-110 throughout the CES show, Jan. 10-13. Hours: Tuesday 10 am. – 6 pm.; Wednesday and Thursday 9 am. – 6 pm.; and Friday 9 am. – 4 pm.
Enigmacoustics bases its loudspeakers on groundbreaking, patented, self-biased electrostatic loudspeaker (SBESL) super-tweeter technology. It combines the science of acoustics with nano material and electronics to create unprecedented sound. Because SBESL does not require an extra, active power supply, it eliminates potential noise from AC lines. It offers up to 40kHz flat response and full passive design without the need of external bias. High-tech composites tens of times thinner than a hair create a membrane that serves as a light, theoretically perfect diaphragm. It carries a constant quantity of charges instead of constant voltage. Since it is not conductive, the phenomenon of intermodulation distortion is inherently absent. Its self-biased diaphragm consumes no power when static and eliminates the need of external DC bias.
“Audiophiles seek out the smooth, transparent, seemingly effortless sound that Enigmacoustics speakers deliver,” says Enigmacoustics Managing Director Larry Ho. “Our live demos at CES will let people see and touch the product – and, most importantly, to hear Enigmacoustics’ superior sound.”
Enigmacoustics has been developing SBESL technology since the company’s founding in 2009. The company has begun building its dealer network, first in the United States with plans for international distribution to follow.
Three Enigmacoustics products will debut at CES. Two – Finale and Nautica – won the Innovations 2012 Design and Engineering Award.
1. Finale – This flagship, floor-standing masterpiece exponentially raises the bar in sound-reproduction excellence. Its synthesis of engineering and design innovation achieves extended highs and transparency like no other speaker. Special care has been taken to match the lightning speed of Finale’s SBESL in midrange and woofer integration. An optimized cabinet eliminates interference and maximizes strength. The result: a loudspeaker that delivers ultimate sound. Finale is scheduled for production in second quarter 2012. $50,000 (U.S.) Acoustical Specs: 2 x T1014 nanotech ESL super tweeters front and back | 1 x 125mm midrange driver with ultra-low distortion neodymium magnet system and extensive frequency response | 2 x 205mm bass drivers with ultra-long excursion and dynamic range | 25 ~ 30,000 Hz frequency response
2. Nautica – This high-fidelity, miniature multimedia speaker springs from the perfect marriage of machinery and acoustics, creating a small beauty with a big sound. Nautica challenges traditional thought that says you must compromise between aesthetics and acoustics. Its pre-main amp architecture ensures the finest audio quality and high output power while a cylindrical cabinet machined from solid, brushed aluminum sets a new standard for beauty. It serves as a perfect mini stereo for your desktop. $1,995 (U.S.) Specs (per channel): 1 x 0710 nano film ESL tweeter | 1 x 100mm mid-woofer | 2 x 30W (RMS) class AB amplifier | 2-way electronic crossover | 3-step (+2, 0, -2 dB) bass, mid, treble control | 55 ~ 40,000 Hz frequency response
3. Presto – The world’s first electrostatic super tweeter offers extreme performance in a minimal package. Presto is both energy efficient and environmentally friendly while an all-in-one design makes system integration as easy as a traditional tweeter. Finishes come in aluminum or plastic with styling that serves both cosmetic and acoustic functions. $350 (U.S.) Specs: Nominal impedance 4 ohm | Sensitivity 90 dB | Resonant frequency 800 Hz | Frequency response 1 – 40 kHz | Recommended XO 3-10 kHz
About Enigmacoustics
Enigmacoustics was founded in 2009 by Marcus Solomon, an entrepreneur with interests in the United States and Asia. The company launched Enigmacoustics’ line of high-end loudspeakers in the States at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show, where two of its three product lines were showcased for winning the coveted Innovations Award for Design and Engineering. What began as a dream 30 years ago – to create the perfect audiophile loudspeaker – has been realized with its patented self-biased electrostatic loudspeaker (SBESL) super-tweeter technology. Enigmacoustics manufactures high-quality ESL super tweeters, supreme audiophile loudspeaker systems and audiophile-grade multimedia speakers.
About the International CES
The International CES serves as the world’s largest consumer technology tradeshow. It and the prestigious Innovations Design and Engineering Awards are sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). CEA has been recognizing achievements in product design and engineering since 1976. Innovations Award entries are judged on engineering qualities, aesthetic and design, product usage, user value, unique features and competitive positioning. 2012 honorees are featured online at CESweb.org/Innovations.
