Alterna’TV, a division of Latin America’s leading satellite service provider SatMex, has brokered a carriage agreement with Verizon FiOS TV that will bring five channels from Latin America to audiences in the United States effective immediately. The carriage agreement was announced today by Clemente Cabello, general manager for Alterna’TV.
“As Verizon expands its offering of Hispanic programming, we’re happy to include the broad spectrum of programming that these channels represent. From unique arts and entertainment content, to family-friendly entertainment programming, to the exciting sports coverage and more, these new additions to the FiOS TV line up will certainly appeal to many of our subscribers,” said Michelle Webb, director of content strategy and acquisition for Verizon.
“There are some 44 million Hispanics living in the United States, and we are pleased that Verizon’s FiOS TV is committed to serving the distinct cultural and lifestyle needs of this important consumer group by bringing them the news, sports and entertainment of their homeland,” added Cabello.

AYM Sports brings Mexico’s exciting sports action home to viewers. With 24/7 coverage, the channel offers exclusive broadcasts of Mexican wrestling, Mexican soccer (Promotion League/Liga de Ascenso), Baseball (Liga Mexicana del Pacífico and Liga Mexicana de Béisbol Leagues) as well as boxing matches, rodeos, college sports, basketball games and more.
