The CBS reality series “Undercover Boss” and its executive producer Stephen Lambert were honored this week by 2,000 Corporate Learning executives at the Learning 2011 convention in Orlando, Fla.
Learning 2011 presented The Learning Spotlight Award to “Undercover Boss” for highlighting the reality of the workplace and the importance of learning and communication by CEO’s and senior executives. The series was honored during the four-day event, which was keynoted by former President Bill Clinton and actor John Lithgow.

“Undercover Boss” is a two-time Emmy nominated reality series that follows high level corporate executives as they slip anonymously into the rank and file of their own companies. Each week, a different executive will leave the comfort of their corner office for an undercover mission to examine the inner workings of their corporation. While working alongside their employees, they will learn about themselves, the effects their decisions have on others, where the problems lie within their organization, the perception of their company and discover the unsung heroes of their work force. The series will launch its third season in the new year.
Participants in Learning 2011 included the learning leaders of such corporate giants as Walmart, Farmers, British Airways, American Express and Starbucks as well as Waste Management, who was featured in the premiere episode of “Undercover Boss.”
“Undercover Boss” was honored alongside McDonalds for the 50th anniversary of Hamburger University and the Joint Special Operations University for their training of special forces in the military.
