Telenity, a leading provider of location based services, social media, mobile marketing and messaging platforms and solutions, today announced that Ahmet Ozalp will be stepping down as Chief Executive Officer effective November 4, 2011. Ilhan Bagoren, accomplished telecom entrepreneur with vast technology experience, chairman and co-founder of Telenity, will become the new CEO.
“This was a change planned for the last four months and Ilhan Bagoren has been actively involved in the day-to-day operations of Telenity, which will ensure a smooth transition period,” said Ahmet Ozalp. “I am delighted to have had the privilege to lead Telenity. For the last three years, we have focused on innovation and created a very exciting set of new products in areas such as location based services, mobile social networking and mobile marketing. Ilhan’s presence at R&D center in Istanbul and his pioneering leadership and experience will help us focus further on our execution and accelerate our growth.”

Ahmet Ozalp will remain as a member of the Board of Directors at Telenity and will continue his full time career as a business executive in an Internet Technology company, in San Mateo, California.

Ilhan Bagoren has over 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Before founding Telenity, Bagoren was a co-founder of NewNet in 1989 where he managed NewNet's technology and architecture strategy and pioneered new technology developments in computer-centric SS7 signaling and switching. At NewNet, he served as the President, establishing the company as the leading SS7 vendor in the market. Previously, Bagoren held several business development, engineering and operations positions at leading network equipment vendors such as Nortel and Alcatel. Bagoren holds a Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and co-holder of three patents.
