Openet, a leading provider of Service Optimization Software (SOS) to tier one communications and media service providers, today announced Openet has won the Irish Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year and International Category awards, a global program that honors the most creative and inspirational entrepreneurs in each region. Openet was represented at the awards ceremony by Niall Norton (CEO) and Joe Hogan (CTO) in a ceremony held in Dublin on Thursday, October 20.
As Ireland’s largest privately held software company, Openet provides cutting-edge solutions to wireless, wireline and cable carriers around the world, and has more than 780 full time employees and more than 90 customer deployments in more than 28 countries. Openet’s industry leadership and strong performance are what led Ernst & Young to award this honor to Mr. Norton and Mr. Hogan.
“Even an established company needs entrepreneurial spirit,” said Mr. Norton. “No organization can afford to become stale or quit innovating. At Openet, the culture of innovation that Joe created when he founded the company has driven our success. Next-gen solutions, loyal customers and a tremendous bench of talent are the results of Openet’s entrepreneurial approach to our business, and we’re grateful for the recognition from Ernst & Young.”
Judged by a panel of highly successful international business people in Ireland, the Entrepreneur of the Year Awards evaluate 24 companies in several categories. With this win, Mr. Norton and Mr. Hogan will participate in the Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in Monte Carlo next June, which brings together winners from 50 countries.
Mr. Hogan, who has been the driving force behind Openet’s solutions since its inception, said: “Niall’s vision and tireless ambition for Openet have helped it become the Company it is today. I’m so proud that this Company has become such an integral part of the Irish technology landscape, as well as our chosen markets.”
